The Sony A7R III may be freshly announced, but time and accessories wait for no man, and we’re already seeing the first kit specifically tailored to fit with the firm’s latest high-resolution CSC.

8Sinn have produced what looks to be the first cage for the A7R III, and it’s now available for pre-order on their site.

Sony’s A7 cameras are gaining in popularity with filmmakers for their superior video capabilities, and the cage allows for easy attaching of the kind of accessories required for polished, professional-quality video.

Constructed from a single piece of aluminium, the cage has no structural weak points and should provide sturdy, dependable support as well as protection for the camera. The cage is covered with 1/4″ thread mounting points for mounting of various accessories, enabling a fully customisable setup. It also features a built-in cold shoe mount.

It has been ergonomically designed for versatility and to suit the needs of individual filmmakers, with the battery and card slots easily accessible and access to buttons unimpeded.

It features a strap holder for securing a wrist strap, ensuring the user can hold their camera safely and securely. A cable clamp is included to hold an HDMI cable in place, also serving to protect the camera’s ports from external damage.
