This new square holder from B+W is designed to complement the range of square filters the firm released earlier this year – four Square Glass ND filters, in 2, 3, 6 and 10 stop strengths.

It’s built with an aluminium frame, making it stable and secure enough to hold up to three square filters.

A light seal is in place to prevent any unwanted light creeping in, and there are also adapter rings available for Ø52, 55, 58, 62, 67, 72, 77 and 82mm sizes (though these will cost you extra).

B+W’s Square Filters are made to exacting standards, using ground and polished special glass and a 3-layer combination coating. The coating (MRC Nano) uses a multilayer anti-reflection component with seven layers on each side, all but banishing reflections and serving as protection from dirt and water.

The ND filters are also dimensionally stable thanks to their glass substrate, meaning they cannot warp or distort over time. The fact that they’re also scratch-resistant makes the whole system an attractive proposition for photographers who are out and about in less-than-clement conditions.
